O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub

Ray & Marie O’Flaherty opened O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub in December of 2002. The furniture, bar & Irish memorabilia seen about the pub was all shipped from Ireland to California. This laidback pub is the place to munch on traditional comfort food like Fish & Chips or Shepherd’s Pie, enjoy an Irish whiskey or swig down one of the 52 beers on tap. Since Ray's passing in 2013, the team has upheld the very warm & welcoming environment that Ray strived to foster by greeting every guest with Irish hospitality…for at O’Flaherty’s, “You’re a stranger there, but once.”

five points cocktail bar

One of downtown San Jose's most popular craft cocktail bars. At Five Points, they honor those traditions and cultures of saloons and speakeasies that once graced the most infamous neighborhood of America, Five Points, New York. While they don't condone anything illicit, they do pay homage to the melting pot culture by bringing a little bit of old school New York to downtown San Jose. Just like the original Five Points of New York, San Jose represents a true melting pot culture: a place where people can meet and mingle and new traditions mix with old.

Dr. Funk: Rum House + Kitchen

Trader Vic and Donn Beach invented the tiki motif at their California restaurants of the 1930s that would entice generations for nearly a century. Both Trader Vic and Donn Beach sought not to create a fantasy world that was hinged on any single location; but rather one that encompassed the concept of escapism by incorporating and embracing elements from the Caribbean, to the South Pacific, China, Singapore and beyond! Dr. Funk’s eclectic decor draws influence from both Trader Vic and Donn Beach. In doing so, they’ve created a backdrop that is thrilling, fascinating and alluring — a place where you can escape.
